Processing & Interpretation Manager
Overall Purpose of Role:
The Processing & Interpretation Manager is primarily responsible for effectively managing and delivering processing projects to required company and client standards, monitoring, mentoring and supporting a team of multi-discipline geoscientists across the Group. This role will be based in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Key Accountabilities:
- Highly effective self and team management, ensuring efficient and thorough execution of all data processing, modeling, inversion and interpretation tasks and projects
- Liaising effectively with clients and co-workers to ensure that expectations and deliverables for quality and service are met or exceeded
- Providing technical leadership in projects as required; demonstrating problem-solving skills and applying appropriate theory to drive practical and effective solutions
- Mentoring and supporting co-workers; proactively transferring specialized knowledge and advancing the skills sets of individuals
- Ensuring that quality control standards are met for processing, modeling and reporting activities
- Ensuring that written reports are produced and delivered to the client in accordance with contract and company standards
- Developing and agreeing service parameters with clients in conjunction with the VP P&I
- Drafting of new procedures and approval of procedure updates
- Providing support to the VP P&I by carrying out other duties and tasks as are reasonable and within the scope, purpose and grade of the job, as may be determined from time to time by the VP P&I
- Being fully compliant with Health & Safety responsibilities, at all times taking reasonable steps to ensure their own safety and the safety of others who may be affected by their actions; co-operating with the company in terms of meeting legal Health & Safety obligations

- The job holder will be responsible for a large team of multi-disciplined geoscientists in the US. The Group has satellite offices in the UK and Asia-Pacific regions and the individual must be willing and able to travel abroad when reasonably required to perform their duties

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
Essential:
- MSc or equivalent in a related geoscience discipline (geology, physics or geophysics).
- Strong project management and time management skills; able to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently to meet customer and company expectations for both quality and delivery.
- 5 years experience in CSEM data processing and interpretation.
- 2 years experience in leading/supporting a team of geoscientists in a project-based work environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills; able to effectively communicate and present complex ideas and technical information to mixed audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills, approachable and able to develop good working relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels.
- Strong team leadership abilities; motivates others to accept challenge and achieve outstanding results.
- Commitment to the standards and values of the company and the role.
- High levels of technical and IT competency; able to quickly become proficient in new software to successfully complete and deliver project work on time.
Desirable:
- Industry experience in exploration seismic processing and interpretation.
