Senior Geophysicist(EM)
Overall Purpose of Role:
A Senior Geophysicist (EM) is primarily responsible for effectively managing and delivering CSEM processing projects to required company and client standards, supervising Processing & Interpretation Group co-workers where appropriate to achieve the required results. This role will be based in Houston, TX.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for managing multiple (concurrent) projects effectively within agreed parameters
- Ensuring that quality control standards are met for processing, modeling and reporting activities
- Liaising effectively with clients and co-workers to ensure that expectations and deliverables for quality and service are met or exceeded
- Ensuring that written reports are produced and delivered to the client in accordance with contract and company standards
- Providing technical leadership in projects as required; demonstrating problem-solving skills and applying appropriate theory to drive practical and effective solutions
- Mentoring and supporting co-workers; proactively transferring specialized knowledge and advancing the skills sets of individuals
- Highly effective self and team management, ensuring efficient and thorough execution of all data processing, modeling, inversion and interpretation tasks and projects
- Drafting of new procedures and approval of procedure updates
- Developing and agreeing service parameters with clients in conjunction with the Processing & Interpretation Manager
- Providing support to the Processing & Interpretation Manager by carrying out other duties and tasks as are reasonable and within the scope, purpose and grade of the job, as may be determined from time to time by the Processing & Interpretation Manager
- Being fully compliant with Health & Safety responsibilities, at all times taking reasonable steps to ensure their own safety and the safety of others who may be affected by their actions; co-operating with the company in terms of meeting legal Health & Safety obligations

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
Essential:
- MSc or equivalent in a related geo-science discipline (geology, physics or geophysics)
- A minimum of 5 years experience in CSEM data processing
- Proficiency in Fortran and C++
- Strong project management and time management skills; able to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently to meet customer and company expectations for both quality and delivery
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent report writing skills
- Excellent communication skills; able to effectively communicate and present complex ideas and technical information to mixed audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills, approachable and able to develop good working relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels
- Strong team leadership abilities; motivates others to accept challenge and achieve outstanding results
- Commitment to the standards and values of the company and the role
- High levels of technical and IT competency; able to quickly become proficient in new software to successfully complete and deliver project work on time
Desirable:
- PhD in a related geo-science discipline (geology, physics or geophysics)
- 5 years experience in client facing technical roles
- Industry experience in CSEM processing and interpretation
- Industry experience in exploration seismic processing and interpretation
