Rock Solid Images develops and improves technology for computing reservoirs properties between wells using data from wells, seismic, and CSEM surveys. This work is driven primarily by our clients needs to reduce risk and improve exploration and development outcomes. Some of the projects are:

A primary source of funding and innovation is our Lithology and Fluid Prediction Consortium (LFP). LFP grew from the original Seismic Attributes Consortium started by Dr. Tury Taner (the father of seismic attributes and Chief Geophysicist of Rock Solid Images) in the early 1990s. The project continues today as LFP3 and is an important component of our Research and Development strategy. After an extremely successful LFP2, LFP3 is now open to new participants.
The WISE consortium was formed to develop novel methods for the integrated interpretation of seismic, controlled source electromagnetic and well log data within a rock physics framework, to provide quantitative measurements of sub-surface rock and fluid properties, leading to improved reservoir characterisation.
R&D with the United States Department of Energy (DOE)In conjunction with the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), Rock Solid Images has completed and is currently working on the following projects:
Exploration & Production Technologies
DE-FC26-04NT42243
Novel Use of P-wave and S-wave Seismic Attenuation for Deep Natural Gas Exploration and Development
Project End Date: September 30, 2006
DOE/NETL Methane Hydrate Projects
DE-FC26-06NT42961
Seismic Gas Hydrate Quantification by Cumulative Attributes (CATTs)

Rock Solid Images undertakes special research projects for individual clients. We have conducted projects for clients ranging from small independents to the largest international operators. We have performed special data analysis on many different types of projects including; tight gas sands, methane hydrates, carbonates, CSEM-seismic joint integration, 4D, pore pressure prediction, and many others.
Rock Solid Images supports internal and external R&D efforts and is an active member in the following consortia.
To achieve results in advanced research topics, we have developed a strong, dedicated staff and have established relationships with some respected leaders in their fields:
