Reservoir Appraisal - Solutions
Challenge
The role of seismic in field appraisal, field development and EOR is growing. Whether it is for well placement, infill drilling, or EOR feasibility, a comprehensive and high resolution static model for the reservoir is needed in order to obtain a quantitative estimate of the reservoir properties. However, re-development studies need to have a fast turnover despite containing significant amounts of well, seismic and production data. Other challenges for appraisal projects are to:
- Model and interpret the seismic response to fluid injections (water, Miscible Gas, Chemicals).
- Increase the resolution of the reservoir heterogeneities maps for infill drilling.
- Assess the uncertainties of the heterogeneities maps and the associated impact on the production plan.
