Rock Solid Images Training
iMOSS software training
iMOSS is a powerful, interactive, seismic modeling and rock physics application for use in quantitative interpretation. It enables interpreters, modelers, and others geoscientists to control an array of sophisticated tools so they may understand the underlying rock and fluid controls on seismic amplitude, impedance, and AVA response. The course covers the following topics:
- Introduction to basic rock physics
- The iMOSS work-space: menus, data, and views
- Projects: well data, views, workflows, and models
- Data types: curves, constants, values, and parameters
- Minimum input data requirements: depth, density, Vp, Vsh, Sw
- Running the fluid substitution workflow
- Graphic display of well log, seismic, wavelet data and cross plots
- Manipulate data display tracks (moving, resizing, zooming, etc.)
- Add or delete data on a log plot
- Data format, range, and units
- AVA workflow and gradient-intercept plots
- Import and export of well log data
- Saving projects and custom designs of workflows, graphs, log views, I/O options
Seismic Attributes Course
This highly focused course relates selected aspects of subsurface interpretation to geologically driven exploration strategy using a suite of post-stack seismic attributes. The course is especially designed for prospect generators who are interested in an innovative interpretation of challenging 3-D seismic surveys. Some Featured Topics are:
- Fundamentals: Attribute classification & nomenclature
- Pitfalls and lessons learned from data preparation & conditioning
- Ad hoc recognition of seismic anomalies
- Analyzing & interpreting seismic attribute responses
- Hands-on "live" demo workstation exercises
